This past May, 2018, I purchased a lovely 5 yr old Hanoverian gelding from a client of Joy Bahniuk & Mary Bahniuk Lauritsen of Cadence Farm & coincidently in May of 2010 I purchased a 6 yr old Holsteiner mare from a client of theirs as well.....to say I have had nothing but GREAT experiences with Joy & Mary is an understatement. I left the 5 yr old gelding ,Stevie , in training this past summer with Joy, since my husband & I would be spending the summer on Cape Cod, & he just flourished. Training is quiet plus appropriate for the horses capabilities & I was kept up to date on what was done & how he was progressing when I couldn’t be there . Again needless to say Stevie blossomed.
Cadence Farm is tranquil, the help & training outstanding as well as the care of all horses on the farm. The best part of all this is when Stevie came home to MO to the farm I Board & train at everyone raved , still do, about his manners & training for a 5 yr old.
Thank you Joy, Mary & your client for Stevie.
What I like especially is that Joy knows so much about horses and about riding dressage from her own experience as competition rider and as trainer. She has more than once trained horses from baby to adult, from training level to FN standards. She has therefore excellent judgement of what is going on in the arena, and how to use the activity for exercise. I look forward to every new lesson.
Joy is a formidable dressage teacher. I have known her for a year now, and have had dressage lessons since May 2018, about twice a week. When we started, my horse, an Irish Draught mix, was happy doing first level dressage, but we did not know how to go further. Joy helped Diarmait and me to keep balance better than before, by working with me on my seat, and by working with both of us on issues of collecting, learning the whole range of leg yielding, shoulder and haunches in up to first steps in renvers and travers. Another important topic were tempi--we managed to slow down as well as lengthen the trot, and we worked on our transitions. I learned to use my body and upper thighs, and stand clear from the reins. Counter canter will be one of our next goals.
Dear Joy- Please accept my thanks for the excellent care and thoughtful training received by our Holsteiner mare Etta under your direction at Cadence Farm, Harvard MA and Cadece Farm, Loxahatchee, FL.

Mark and I have loved everything about boarding at Cadence Farm, from the thoughtful instruction of USDF medalists Joy Bahniuk and Mary Bahniuk Lauritsen, to the luxury of European-style full care, to the attention paid to the smallest detail of the horses' well-being, such as the warm mashes served daily for lunch. Cadence Farm combines the amenities of a commercial barn with the warmth of a small-barn environment, where from the beginning we both felt completely at home.
